Hopping Around Praslin Island in the Seychelles:

There is something particularly alluring about the Seychelles Islands’ coasts, which are studded with boulders. The beauty will quickly make you understand why people refer to the Seychelles as “heaven on earth.”

The Seychelles, which are 115 coral and granite islands off the coast of Kenya, is home to endemic species like the Aldabra tortoises and the rare Coco de Mer palm. The majority of these islands have marine sanctuaries and UNESCO-listed nature reserves.

Tourism in Seychelles is very famous. You can spend your days hiking through the verdant jungles, unwinding on the idyllic beaches, or diving to discover the island’s rich underwater history. Praslin Island was one of the favorite places to visit when exploring Seychelles. One of the most visited islands in the archipelago, this location is often regarded as one of the most stunning places on earth. Praslin Island was a very famous tourist destination under Seychelles tourism. Seychelles’ second-largest island is insanely beautiful, boasting lovely beaches, green waters, and lush woods.

How to travel to Praslin:

In Seychelles, moving between islands is rather simple—you may take aircraft or ferries. There are speed boats that travel in around 50 minutes from the main island of Mahé to Praslin (with connections to La Digue). Although it will cost a little more, the flight from Mahé to Praslin will only take around 15 minutes.

*Helpful Hint: If you don’t plan early, you can find yourself spending hours at airports in the Seychelles at the busiest times of the year.

How to Get Around:

Because Praslin Island is fewer than fifteen square miles in size, getting around is simple. The neighborhood bus is an affordable and effective method to go around. Most routes operate from five in the morning to nine at night. It’s straightforward to ask for directions and navigate the island because many individuals speak English (some even as their first language).

Taxis are a wonderful option for traveling at night or to more remote locations. The Seychelles government has set uniform standards for all cabs, so all businesses charge the same prices. However, it’s crucial to be aware that many cabs won’t take luggage.

For transportation around Praslin Island, you can also rent a car. Since the island is so small, renting a car is something you should consider doing, even though having your vehicle is convenient for reaching some of the more remote locations.
Helpful Tip: Bringing a ton of luggage with you is not recommended. It’ll be harder to get around, and even Seychelles airport has hard limits on luggage weights. The weather is always warm and sunny, so you really won’t need more clothes to carry.
